Magnetic hijab pins for a no-hole, fabric-safe wrap in India

A hijab scarf is the garment. The pin only keeps the wrap still on a commute, in a meeting, or between classes. Piercing pins do that by making a hole. Magnetic hijab pins hold two layers together, so chiffon and modal keep the cloth you paid for.

Prices and stock below are the Zahéen catalogue, not a generic advert. The Classic Magnetic Pin Set is ₹690 for a set of 2 pairs, in Matte Gold, Soft Silver, and Ink Black. It is out of stock — enquire on WhatsApp for a restock, and do not assume it can ship today. Shipping is a flat ₹120 per shipment inside India. It is not waived as the order grows.

The short answer

Use magnetic pins when the scarf slips and you do not want a hole in it. That is most often chiffon, and often modal on a long day. Leave them off when classic jersey already grips. Place every pair on an overlap, not on a single floating layer. Wear an undercap when the scarf is not opaque. Magnets are a hold. They are not coverage.

The set here is the Classic Magnetic Pin Set. Pins at ₹79–₹299 can also hold a scarf; they are usually a brighter, simpler piece. The difference is finish and pad, not a ranking of other shops. If you are still choosing cloth, read chiffon, modal cotton, and jersey first.

Why magnets, instead of a piercing pin

A safety pin stays in place by entering the weave, and the entry remains. Chiffon shows a hole that widens. Modal snags as a pulled thread. Jersey can run from a pierce the knit did not need.

A magnetic pin is two discs, one outside and one inside, attracting through the cloth. Nothing enters the yarn. On this site, no-hole and fabric-safe mean what the product says: no fabric puncture, a slim profile, for chiffon, cotton, and jersey. The page does not publish a strength number, and this guide will not invent one.

A pair on a single sheet of chiffon can still pinch. Seat it on an overlap, take it off when you undress, and do not store the scarf with the magnets clipped in.

Chiffon and modal, and how to wash them

Everyday heavy chiffon asks for a magnet most often. It moves, and it slips. The note is “Semi-sheer to semi-opaque — best with undercap for full coverage”. Care is Hand wash cold · Hang dry · Steam gently — avoid high heat. Take the magnets off before water — a piercing pin’s hole outlasts the wash, and a magnet left in a wet fold can pinch.

Modal cotton is the softer opaque scarf — “Opaque”. One pair at the side usually holds it, because the cloth has more body than chiffon. Care is Gentle machine or hand wash cold · Hang dry · Low iron if needed. Pins off before the wash. Cotton scarves follow the same rule.

Classic jersey is “Opaque”, and the stretch stays. Care is Machine wash cold gentle · Hang or flat dry · Avoid high heat. Add a magnet only when a tail will not stay. Heat, opacity, and scarf prices are in the fabric comparison. This page stays with the hold.

How to place the magnets

Set the scarf first. Seat the midpoint at the forehead and even the tails. Then bring one tail under the chin and lay it just off centre, near the jaw or below the collarbone, on an overlap or against an undercap. The office wrap is that side secure: catch the layer underneath so the throat does not gape, and keep the pin off the centre, where a collar would press it.

One disc outside, one inside, until the cloth lies flat. If it puckers, move to a thicker overlap. The set is two pairs. On chiffon, the second pair holds a travelling tail at the shoulder, not in a row along the face. On modal, one pair is usually enough. On jersey, try none. A campus wrap is often a single hold. Care is Wipe clean · Keep away from cards/devices when stored.

When the undercap still matters

An undercap is coverage. A magnetic pin is only a hold. With chiffon, wear the cap — it is what full coverage depends on, and it gives the inner magnet a surface other than hair. With modal (“Opaque”) or jersey (“Opaque”), the cap is optional: grip on a commute, or a hairline under tube lights.

Professional wear is built on those opaque scarves. Daily wear includes chiffon, where the cap is part of the outfit. Opacity and size are in the fabric, opacity, and size guide.

Matte gold, soft silver, ink black

The set is finished in Matte Gold, Soft Silver, and Ink Black — matte hardware, not costume jewellery, as on the pins page. Matte gold belongs with dusty pink, sand, ivory, and burnt orange. Soft silver with navy, slate, and grey. Ink black with plum, burgundy, and deep navy. The metal is brushed metal + soft pad, padded against the cloth.

The Classic set, and the ₹79–₹299 pins

Most magnetic hijab pins in an India search sit between ₹79 and ₹299. Many will hold a scarf for a college day: a small pair or a loose pack, often brighter, with little said about a pad. They have a place in a student pouch.

The Classic Magnetic Pin Set is ₹690 for a set of 2 pairs in Matte Gold, Soft Silver, and Ink Black. Construction is brushed metal + soft pad, slim, with no fabric puncture. The extra is the finish and the pad, not a louder magnet — the quieter kit for modal at work, or a chiffon you wear every week. See the product page, the pins hub, and the shop.

Questions before you enquire

Do magnetic hijab pins leave holes in chiffon or modal cotton?

No. A pair holds two layers without piercing, so it does not leave a hole in chiffon or a pulled thread in modal. Heavy chiffon is “Semi-sheer to semi-opaque — best with undercap for full coverage”. Modal cotton is “Opaque”. A single thin layer can still pinch. Seat the pair on an overlap, and remove it before washing.

How do I place magnetic pins on a hijab scarf?

Set the wrap first. On an overlap beside the jaw or just below the collarbone, place one disc outside and one inside until the cloth lies flat. If it puckers, move to a thicker overlap. A second pair is only for a tail that will not stay.

Do I still need an undercap if I use magnetic pins?

When the scarf is not opaque, yes. Pins hold cloth. They do not cover. Heavy chiffon is “Semi-sheer to semi-opaque — best with undercap for full coverage”, so the undercap does the covering and gives the inner magnet a surface other than hair. Modal and jersey are “Opaque”. There the cap is for the hairline and for grip.
