How to wrap

1. 01Start with the deeper abaya or dress. Evening cloth looks settled when the outfit under it is already dark and simple. Put that on before you judge the scarf length.
2. 02Wear a close, matte undercap. Venue bulbs and phone flash show more than a window at noon. Velvet satin leans opaque. A Türkiye piece depends on layering. Malaysian chiffon is sheerer. The cap stays for all three.
3. 03For a satin night, centre the scarf at the forehead, a little lower than a daytime wrap, so the hairline stays covered when you look down. Even the two sides. Do not lift the front into a high puff.
4. 04Bring the right tail under the chin and pin it lower than you would for an Eid visit, at the side of the neck rather than up by the ear. The lower pin leaves a longer line at the throat and lets the cloth move when you walk. Leave the left tail long down the front. Do not pad the crown, and do not tuck the end short.
5. 05If you want texture instead of sheen, use Burnt Orange with that same centre and the same low side pin. The undercap is the coverage. The scarf is the colour. The lot is small, so this is a considered piece, not a weekly rotation.
6. 06Malaysian chiffon, if you want it, is an outer layer for movement over the satin — never the only layer under evening lights. Pin it at the same side point so the hardware stays in one place.
7. 07Steam on low. Check the wrap under a warm bulb, then turn your head both ways. The ends should move without opening at the chest. If a layer gapes, tighten the side pin before you add another.
